Additional Benefits

State Tuition Assistance is a program that pays up to a certain amount per semester hour for tuition and authorized fees. That amount is determined by the Texas National Guard. Please contact your Education Officer to find out about tuition assistance programs through your unit.
If you wish to use your Texas Tomorrow Fund along with Federal or State veteran benefits please contact Student Business Services Office at 979-847-3337.

Please note the Hazlewood Exemption CANNOT be used in conjunction with the Texas Guarantee Tuition Plan. It you are currently using both the Hazlewood Exemption and the Texas Guaranteed Tuition Plan, please contact Student Business Services Office at 979-847-3337.
Military Personnel & Dependents Non-Resident Tuition Exemption
Current members of the Armed Forces, veterans, and their spouses and children who meet certain eligibility requirements may receive the Military Personnel and Dependents Non-Resident Tuition Exemption. This Exemption exempts all non-resident tuition and is processed by Student Business Services. Additional information on this Exemption and the associated eligibility requirements can be found on the Student Business Services website under section labeled Military Personnel and Dependents.
Yellow Ribbon Program
The Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program (Yellow Ribbon Program) is a provision of the Post-9/11 GI Bill®. This program allows institutions of higher learning to voluntarily enter into an agreement with VA to fund tuition expenses that exceed the in-state tuition and fee rates. The institution can contribute up to 50% of those expenses and VA will match the same amount as the institution. Texas A&M University participates in the Yellow Ribbon program. It is awarded on a first-come first-served basis. Active duty service members, spouses of active duty service members, and Fry Scholarship recipients are not eligible for this program. Texas Residency for Active Duty Service Members, Spouses, and Children
Active duty service members, and their spouses and children, may be able to be deemed a Texas Resident by the Office of the Registrar. Please view the Residency Brochure for more information.
 
Competitive Scholarship Non-Resident Tuition Waiver
The Military Transcript Credit Appeal should be completed by the student veteran based on recommendations of the departmental academic advisor and then forwarded for review to the Office of Admissions. For more detailed information please view the form or contact your academic advisor.
